Scholarships and Grants
Scholarships and grants are forms of financial aid that do not need
to be repaid.
Grants: Grants, funded through federal, state,
and college and university resources, are awarded to students with financial
need. Often grants are renewable for multiple years, but you must submit
a FAFSA each year to qualify.
Scholarships: Scholarships, funded
through federal, state, local community, college and university, and private
resources, are usually awarded without regard to financial need. Each scholarship
has its own application process and selection criteria. Recipients may be
selected based on specific career interests, community service, heritage,
special talent, or achievement in academics, athletics, and/or fine arts.
